Meerut, March 20, 2026:
In a proactive move to ensure public safety and communal harmony, the district police administration in Meerut carried out extensive security checks and foot patrols across sensitive areas under the Bhawanpur police station limits on Friday.

Acting on directives issued by senior officials, including the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and the Superintendent of Police (Rural), police teams led by the Circle Officer of Sadar Dehat conducted on-ground inspections in multiple localities. The operation was specifically aimed at maintaining law and order during Friday prayers and in preparation for the upcoming festival of Eid.
Police personnel, along with local station forces, visited several mosques within the jurisdiction. During the patrol, officers interacted with mosque committees, religious leaders, and community representatives to assess the situation and reinforce coordination between law enforcement and the public.

Officials emphasized the importance of peaceful celebrations and urged citizens to cooperate with authorities. They also reassured residents that adequate security arrangements have been put in place to prevent any untoward incidents.
The foot patrols included monitoring of crowded areas, checking of suspicious activities, and ensuring that emergency response systems remain active. Authorities stated that such preventive measures are part of routine policing during major religious gatherings and festivals.

Local residents appreciated the visible police presence, stating that it helps build confidence and ensures a safe environment for worship and celebrations.
The police administration has further indicated that surveillance and patrolling will continue in the coming days to maintain peace and stability across the district.
