Understanding the IPEC Format
The IPEC format is a simple method used for writing structured answers in long-answer questions. It helps students present their responses clearly and logically, which can make it easier for examiners to award full marks.
The four components of the IPEC format include:
- I – Introduction: Begin the answer with a short explanation or background about the topic.
- P – Point: Clearly state the key points related to the question.
- E – Explanation: Provide detailed explanations, examples, or supporting information for each point.
- C – Conclusion: End the answer with a brief concluding statement summarizing the response.
