New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has clarified that students appearing for board examinations will receive marks for every correct step in their answers, not only for the final result. The clarification aims to remove confusion among students about how answer sheets are evaluated in subjects such as Mathematics and Science.
According to CBSE officials, the board follows a step-wise marking system, meaning examiners award marks for the method, formula application, and intermediate steps used while solving a question. Even if the final answer contains a calculation error, students may still receive partial marks if their approach and reasoning are correct.
