Kolkata: Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar faced protests and raised slogans of “Go Back” during his visit to the famous Kalighat Kali Temple in Kolkata. The incident occurred while the Election Commission team was in West Bengal to review preparations for the upcoming state assembly elections.
According to reports, a group of demonstrators gathered outside the temple and waved black flags as the Chief Election Commissioner arrived to offer prayers. The protesters raised slogans expressing their dissatisfaction and demanded that he leave the area. Security personnel present at the site quickly intervened and ensured that the situation remained under control, allowing Kumar to proceed with his temple visit.
